The advice we provide immediately following a loss, is often the most critical. Consequently, your primary risk is not having an expert with you every step of the way to protect your claim.

There are no up front fees. We work exclusively for the policy holder on a contingency basis. In other words, if you don't get paid, we don't get paid. It's that simple.

Why Guardian American?

Relevant Experience

A Claims Consultant/ Public Adjuster must have the ability to thoroughly understand and interpret your Insurance Policy. Moreover, the insurance adjusting process demands an in depth understanding of construction law, past and present building methodologies  and the ability to derive and defend an accurate repair estimate.

Adjusting claims for the policyholder is a specific skill that is developed through experience and time. It’s often about managing the expectations of the interested parties, on both a personal and business level. As with any financial negotiation, good communication, the ability to keep all interested parties calm and moving towards common goal is the most critical aspect to achieving a fair and equitable settlement for your claim.

Guardian American Public Adjusters is part of the family of Guardian American Companies which brings decades of experience to our clients.

Legal Qualifications

Guardian American Public Adjusters must first go through a Florida State Certified Public Adjuster licensing process. They must submit to background and fingerprint investigations to protect our clients. This license is governed by the Florida Department of Financial Services.

In addition, our public adjusters must post a $50,000 Surety Bond and are required to take continuing education courses to maintain their license and certification.

What About Conflicting Interests?

It should be noted that Building Contractors are NOT LEGALLY ALLOWED to negotiate with your insurance company on your behalf, let alone adjust your claim in any way, unless they go through the same state licensing process.

In addition, it is a conflict of interest for Guardian American to take a fee for any contracting and construction management services related to the repair of any property that we were hired to handle as Public Adjusters.

However, an added benefit of using Guardian American is that we will apply our construction management expertise throughout the claim settlement process.

Why Not Use An Attorney To Settle My Insurance Claim?

Public adjusters are one of only two parties that are allowed by law to represent and pursue another party’s interest in an insurance claim. Attorneys represent the second party legally allowed to represent you, and they often refer clients back to public adjusters for a number of reasons. The bottom line is that attorneys handle law suits, which in most cases, is not necessary to reach a fair and equitable claim settlement.

Most policyholder’s don’t realize that Public Adjusters are actively supported by attorneys because they prefer to handle claims that have been managed by a Public Adjusters. Attorneys are obligated to show the courts that all other methods to settle a claim dispute have been exhausted, before continuing litigation. Unfortunately, while it is sometimes necessary, suing your insurance company to obtain a settlement can delay payment to you for months and sometimes years.
